He had unwavering belief in my potential as an athlete, even when I did not see it for myself. With his constant encouragement from his words and actions, I was able to evolve into a playerwith belief in my style of play and the confidence to take risks. University was not even on my radar for something that I could accomplish, but with Coach Russes’ belief in my abilities and his continued efforts to help me make a name for myself, I was able to obtain a spot on the Acadia Women’s Soccer team. Because of Coach Russ I walk onto the field with a sense of confidence, boldness, and belief in myself and my skill."

Having played at a very high level himself, Dave’s understanding of the game is obvious and he has the rare ability to pass that knowledge on to his players to take them to the next level. He is passionate about the game and truly cares about his players. I once asked Dave to do some 1-on-1 sessions with me to get me in shape and hone my skills, and without hesitation he agreed and guided me through some of the most intense, well planned, tailored, and beneficial training sessions I’ve ever experienced. He pushed me to my limits and got the best out me while also making it fun and fulfilling at the same time. It is always a pleasure working with Dave on and off the pitch."

Coach Dave is as great of a person off the pitch as he is on the pitch. He never let my head drop when things weren’t going in my favour, instead he made me believe that my hard work was not going to waste. Coach Dave always had a positive impact on my football career and i have no doubt he will continue to do so with me and many other athletes.
